ICSC came to us as a 60-year-old organization struggling to overcome its industry’s perception as “commercial real estate landlords who simply collect rent.” The official name “International Council of Shopping Centers” was outdated. They needed a positioning and identity that reflected the vital impact its members have on communities and economies. We redefined ICSC to reflect its members’ role in the projects and partnerships that define contemporary marketplaces and spaces where people shop, dine, work, play and gather. Where life and business happen everywhere, every day. Where innovating commerce is always in the pursuit of serving communities.
